{"id":979,"date":"2021-05-10T14:51:13","date_gmt":"2021-05-10T14:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iwcacademy.com\/wp\/?p=979"},"modified":"2021-05-10T14:58:48","modified_gmt":"2021-05-10T14:58:48","slug":"why-a-christian-worldview-matters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iwcacademy.com\/wp\/?p=979","title":{"rendered":"Why A Christian Worldview Matters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Whether we realize it or not, we all have a belief system ingrained in us that determines how we view everything around us.\u00a0 Every thought, every opinion, and every decision about everything is derived from our \u2018Worldview\u2019 \u2013 the way we view the world.\u00a0 There are absolutely no exceptions.\u00a0 Neutrality is not reality.\u00a0 In Matthew 12:30 the Lord says \u201cHe that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We all make choices, or decisions, every day.\u00a0 We decide when to get out of bed.\u00a0 We decide what clothes to wear.\u00a0 We decide what to eat.\u00a0 We decide what words to use in conversation.\u00a0 We decide according to what we believe to be right or wrong.<\/p>\n<p>But you may say \u201cThere are times I don\u2019t decide anything.\u00a0 Sometimes I can\u2019t determine what is right.\u201d\u00a0 The truth is &#8211; there is actually no such thing as indecision.\u00a0 Suppose I am shopping for an automobile and I have the choice of purchasing either a red or a blue one.\u00a0\u00a0 My three decisions would be 1) buy the red one, 2) buy the blue one, or 3) buy neither.\u00a0 Regardless of which I do, I have made a decision based on what I believe to be right.\u00a0 There is no indecision.<\/p>\n<p>Every decision we ever make about anything will be determined by our belief, or view, of what the correct decision is.\u00a0 We justify our actions by what we believe to be right.\u00a0 I may be aware that it is against the law for me to steal.\u00a0 But if I believe that I can steal due to a particular circumstance (ie:\u00a0 hunger, lack of shelter, etc\u2026), then according to my worldview (belief) my theft is justified.\u00a0 On the other hand, if I believe that God will provide for my needs (Philippians 4:19), then according to my worldview theft is wrong regardless of my circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>A Christian (Christ-centered) worldview is based on the Word of God and encourages us to please God.\u00a0 A humanistic (man-centered) worldview denies God\u2019s authority and encourages us to justify sin.\u00a0 To quote Ken Ham, the president of <a href=\"https:\/\/answersingenesis.org\">Answers In Genesis<\/a>, \u201cIn secular education they begin with \u2018Man determines truth.\u2019\u00a0 Therefore, that\u2019s the foundation of their entire way of thinking in every way of life\u2026If the textbooks don\u2019t start with the Bible as foundational to their thinking, then they are secular in philosophy.\u00a0 If they don\u2019t start from the Scripture, then they start with man\u2019s opinions\u2026When they threw the Bible, prayer, creation out of the public schools, claiming, \u2018We\u2019ve thrown religion out, now we\u2019re neutral,\u2019 they actually threw Christianity out and replaced it with an anti-God religion.\u201d\u00a0 Remember, neutrality is not reality.\u00a0 We are either for Christ or against him.\u00a0 There is no middle ground.<\/p>\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/iwcacademy.com\">Imparting Wisdom Christian Academy<\/a>, we believe in the Genesis account of creation as a direct act of God in six literal 24 hour days.\u00a0 The doctrines of Creator and Creation are foundational to the gospel of Jesus Christ because one\u2019s belief about his origin will affect his philosophy of life.\u00a0 The humanistic worldview teaches that we are the product of random chance and that we evolved over millions of years.\u00a0 This philosophy, taken to its logical conclusion, teaches that there is no such thing as right or wrong \u2013 everything is relative.\u00a0 The humanistic worldview denies the existence of God, evil, and anything spiritual.\u00a0 If man\u2019s opinion determines truth, then anything can be justified.\u00a0 As we all know, depending on circumstances, opinions can drastically change.\u00a0 Just look at how volatile opinion polls are during a presidential election year.\u00a0 One day a particular candidate leads the race.\u00a0 The very next day they may be behind.\u00a0 Can truth be determined by popular opinion?<\/p>\n<p>According to Webster\u2019s 1828 Dictionary, truth is defined as \u201cConformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be.\u201d\u00a0 Truth is constant.\u00a0 Truth cannot change, or else it is not truth.\u00a0 Scripture is clear that Jesus is the truth, \u201cJesus saith unto him,\u00a0I\u00a0am\u00a0the\u00a0way,\u00a0the\u00a0truth, and\u00a0the\u00a0life: no man cometh unto\u00a0the\u00a0Father, but by me\u201d \u2013 John 14:6.\u00a0 Scripture is also clear that our Lord does not change\u2026\u201cJesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and for ever.\u201d \u2013 Hebrews 13:8, \u201cFor I am the LORD, I change not\u2026\u201d \u2013 Malachi 3:6a.<\/p>\n<p>The late Chris Klicka, senior counsel of the <a href=\"https:\/\/hslda.org\">Home School Legal Defense Association<\/a>, once wrote:\u00a0 \u201cTaking place at this moment is a major battle for our children\u2019s minds.\u00a0 This is a philosophical battle which has significant spiritual ramifications.\u00a0 The battle for our children\u2019s minds is being waged by those who have a Christian mindset (requiring the teaching of Scripture as the basis of all knowledge), and the humanists (who believe man is the measure of all things)\u2026Education is never neutral.\u00a0 Someone\u2019s values will be applied to each and every subject.\u00a0 Scripture\u2026explains that all knowledge and wisdom comes from God.\u00a0 Knowledge owes its very existence to God.\u00a0 True knowledge, as a result, cannot be fully understood unless one looks through the lenses of Scripture.\u00a0 On the other hand, the humanist view of education, as we find in the modern public school system, holds that knowledge exists in its own right.\u00a0 According to the humanists, knowledge can be truly interpreted without reference to God and His constant involvement in all of history.\u00a0 The Humanist\u2019s goal, as envisioned by many of the founders and present operators of the public school system, is to use education to manipulate and control masses of students.\u00a0 In light of these two battling philosophies, the reader needs to determine for himself which system of philosophy is consistently being taught in the public schools, and which system of philosophy is demanded of all believers to be applied to the education of their children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mission of <a href=\"https:\/\/iwcacademy.com\">Imparting Wisdom Christian Academy<\/a> is to provide a Christ-centered environment where students can grow academically and spiritually.\u00a0 By teaching a consistent Christian worldview, we will encourage all students to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and we will emphasize the value of the eternal soul, the worth of the individual, and the love of God for all. \u00a0Our goal is to provide the opportunity for each student to achieve academic excellence and to prepare them for a life of service to God and others, whether that be through full-time ministry or in the workplace.\u00a0 We firmly believe that our efforts to teach children to view the world through the lens of Scripture will result in the fulfilment of the promise of Proverbs 22:6 &#8211;
