K5 – 1st Grade Program<\/span><\/h4>

Mrs. Forbes is our K5 – 1st Grade Supervisor\/Teacher.<\/span><\/p>

Space in IWCA’s K5 – 1st grade is limited, and spots fill very quickly.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Once our space is full, applicants may be placed on our waiting list to be notified in case of an opening. ALL students entering K5 through 1st\u00a0<\/span>grade MUST take screening\/placement tests prior to beginning school at IWCA as part of our admissions process. This helps ensure that each\u00a0<\/span>student is placed at the appropriate level within our curriculum.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

K5 & 1st Grade “ABCs” Students – Attend school full-time (Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-2:45 p.m. ABCs Students will\u00a0<\/span>also be required to complete “Focus Friday” assignments at home each week.)<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Our ABCs Students spend time reviewing basic skills, and have\u00a0demonstrated a readiness for learning to read and\/or are ready to build more independence and fluency in reading, writing, and math. Our ABCs\u00a0Students enjoy fun character-building animal stories and songs along with individualized, mastery-based PACE work designed to prepare them\u00a0for future school success. Bible stories and songs, Scripture memory work, and prayer are also integrated into every day at IWCA.<\/span><\/p>

K5 & 1st Grade Tuition: $2,250 ($225\/month)<\/span><\/p>

K5 & 1st Grade Curriculum Fee: $275<\/span><\/p>

\u2022 New students entering IWCA as 1st graders will be given the ABCs Post Test along with other assessments in reading and math to determine<\/span>
appropriate curriculum placement.<\/span><\/p>

Kindergarten Readiness at IWCA<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>

In addition to meeting IWCA\u2019s general admissions requirements, any student applying to our Kindergarten program for the 2026\/2027 school year must meet the following acceptance requirements:<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a01.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Must be at least 5 years old on or by August 27, 2026.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Must be fully potty-trained and able to take care of all toileting needs independently.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a03.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Must demonstrate developmental maturity and school readiness by completing and passing the ABCs with Ace & Christi Reading Readiness Pre-Test<\/i>. This test is administered by an IWCA staff member one-on-one with each incoming Kindergarten applicant during the summer. Child MUST be capable of completing his\/her scheduled test session independently, with a good attitude, and in full cooperation with our school staff. Child MUST successfully complete and pass the ABCs with Ace & Christi Reading Readiness Pre-Test<\/i> with a minimum<\/b> score of 80% to be considered for acceptance at IWCA for the 2026\/2027 school year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What to Know about the ABCs with Ace & Christi Reading Readiness Pre-Test:<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>

IWCA will set up a summer testing appointment for each Kindergarten applicant. The child should arrive at school for this appointment well-rested and having eaten a healthful breakfast. <\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Testing can be expected to take roughly 30-45 minutes. Most children find their pre-Kindergarten testing appointment to be a fun and exciting experience!<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>To allow school staff to accurately assess each child for school readiness, parents\/guardians are not permitted to be in the room with the child while testing is taking place.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Testing is completed in a one-on-one setting. The teacher will engage the child in a series of assessments to determine his\/her readiness for IWCA\u2019s Kindergarten program.
